N london to Cambridge

Can anybody recommend a nice route to Cambridge for a friend of mine from Crouch endish. Should she cut the crap and get a train out of town?
Shes not scared of hills or pubs....

the last part of that route is on quite a busy road round sawston, with cars going quite fast and quite close - this is the one I use, it's virtually identical up to Duddenhoe end, but misses one b*strd hill and is much nicer on the road into cambridge

I've been this route a couple of times. The getting out of London is the worst bit. I tend to grit my teeth until I'm through Chingford. It's a lot more pleasant around the Rodings.
