Clearing out wheels, parts & clothes. Hunt, Specialized, Rapha

Postby pdata » Wed Jun 05, 2019 12:57 pm

Having a clearout from stuff accumulated over the past 2 years whilst finding out what works for me on ultra-distance rides and what, for various reasons, does not.

Wheels
Mason x Hunt 4Season V2 wheelset (12mm thru-axle), taken off a new Mason bike. These have about 500 dry kilometres on them. Sale includes the Schwalbe Pro-One 28mm tyres as well but does not include brake discs. The rear tyre has a small cut in it, but holds air just fine. These are setup with tubes, not tubeless. £200.

Saddles
Specialized Power Arc Pro (143mm). Good for me to 300km but not good enough at distances above that. £45

Specialized Power Arc Elaston (143mm). This is the new saddle with the new 'bubbly' foam padding. Purchased to try to improve upon the Power Arc Pro and good to 400km but thereafter not good enough. Some cosmetic marks but otherwise excellent condition. These are both rare and very expensive new so this is a bit of a bargain at £95. https://road.cc/content/review/256684-specialized-power-arc-pro-elaston-saddle

Other parts
Deda Zero100 100mm stem, black on black. Taken off a new bike as was too long for me. £10
Images at https://ibb.co/album/e8zswF

Kinesis Di2 compatible carbon seatpost (27.2mm). Cosmetic marks from being used. This has been replaced with a different seatpost because the topclamp style (with the knurled adjuster) prevents me fitting my preferred saddle in the correct position. £20

Unused but unwrapped 28mm Continental GP5000 tubeless tyre. Unfortunately this is too tight a fit on my Just Riding Along wheelset so cannot use. £30

Clothes
Rapha cap (black) unused with tags. £5

Rapha Brevet Flyweight wind jacket. Orange (not the new burnt orange, a more high vis version), medium. This is too flappy for me at 172cm and 66kg (38inch chest) so would suit someone a bit larger. Has a couple of oil marks from a cold/dark roadside puncture repair (see photos). £25

Rapha Classic II black long-sleeved merino jersey (medium). Excellent condition but now superseded with a Brevet Windblock jersey £25

Rapha touring shorts (large). Just too big for me as I've lost weight. Would fit someone with a 34 inch waist. Worn for a week's touring and that's it. £20.

Currently the stem, Power Arc Pro saddle, Rapha cap and touring shorts have all been sold and dispatched to their new owners with thanks :). The Classic II jersey is spoken for pending sale.

Everything else remains available.

I'm assuming ther Hunt wheels are 11 speed and do they come with QR adapters or do I have to try and source them elsewhere?

Yes they're 11 speed and I'm afraid they weren't supplied to me with QR adaptors.

Rapha Jersey and Conti tyre are both now sold and with or on the way to their respective new owners.
The Hunt wheels are sold pending payment which is expected Monday.

Just the Brevet jacket, Kinesis seatpost and Specialized Power Arc Elaston saddle remaining.

To date the only saddle I've found which isn't compatible is the Rivet Independence. I suspect a Giles Berthoud would also not be compatible. This is because the Rivet has a piece of leather which runs under the saddle to connect the two sides and this fouls the front adjustment knob on the seatpost.

Other than that, the Kinesis seatpost is compatible with all saddles I've tried on it to date, including those with carbon rails.

Hope that helps.
