Routes around Burnley/Bradford/Skipton area

Postby Craigus89 » Wed Sep 18, 2019 13:23 pm

We are heading up North for the World Champs and have a few days either side, we're staying in a place called Oakworth. We'll be taking the bikes and fancy doing a ride or two.

I could make up a route on Strava but wondered if anyone has any recommendations of some good routes around the area, places to see or roads to avoid? Don't mind climbing and distance isn't much of a worry.

Get yourself to Ilkley, and up the Cow and Calf, or head due north to Steeton, Silsden, Addingham then up around Bolton Abbey and perhaps as far as Grassington. Or from Bolton Abbey loop back round to Ilkley.

Haworth over to Stanbury and head for Colne then you can turn right and back to keighley. First poster has some great suggestions and if you can get up to Hawes or Settle it's a good day out

Nice one, thanks both. Some of these roads look lovely on street view. Will try to plan something.

Hope you enjoy climbing. Some testers on those routes.
