i've bought so much stuff in the last 2 weeks i actually cant remember everything, all little consumables but the most stand out expensive for what it is are cotton boxer shorts, essential for short rides without padded lycra, jebus i couldnt find any decent brands for <£10 a pair.

A week in cornwall riding my MTB off road in swimming shorts was very painful

None of it is exactly "cheap". Just cheaper. My current autumn/winter stuff has 5+ heavy years use in it. It's time for a change...

be interested to hear what you make of the Omloops - I think they are superb (The ever faithful Progetto X2), though as a review correctly stated, comfort\compatibility is mainly down to the length of your thigh, and where the hem sits in relation to the knee.

I got lucky, as did the reviewer iirc.

The omloops arrived today, they seem perfect for autumn, most of winter and spring. Let's see how they feel on the bike. The LW bibtights also seem very good. Basically Omloops with a thin water resistant calf covering. Bring on the cooler weather.
Castelli gear feels much more "premium" than it used to. Hopefully that doesn't mean it's flimsy. I'm just retiring castelli kit I bought 6 years ago.

Bagged a pair of Endura Humvee II for €40 from Biking Point and two pairs of 11 speed quick links from Decathlon for €14 when in Barcelona last week. the shorts hsould have been more but the 20% discount label was over ruled by the manager and turned into 30% discount.
I've added a signature to prove it is still possible.

Garmin Edge 530 from Evans, with 8% off with instant vouchers through work. Now to apply for the £50 loaded card. Seemed a cinch to set up, but choosing and sorting the data screens is proving to be a bit of a pain.

Sounds like might have been able to get them to price match Winstanley Bikes as another thread says they're doing them at 11% off but on pre-order. Never mind.

I’ve been considering another gilet but have held off as I was going to the cycle show at the NEC.
I’d remembered Galibier from going last year and was impressed with some of their kit.
So, picked one up at the show yesterday, first impressions are great and I got a few quid knocked off as well.

12mm through axle fork mount, £20 odd from Merlin Cycles. Found I can carry a road bike upright sans front wheel in the boot of the new car, so bought this to fabricate a homemade fork mount carrier to sit on the back of the folded down rear seat. Already have a Saris mount for 9mm QR but, as I have bikes with both standards, figured I'd try and put something together that allows the choice to use either, depending on the bike I'm carrying......shame I can't bolt the mounts directly to the back of the seat

You just need one of these -

Then you can use it with your QR bikes too.
