quarters - that would be brilliant.

any chance of a jpn/nz final or does the draw run against that?

Yes, opposite sides of the draw I think (assuming QF1 etc are as listed on the RWC website)

I'd love to see a Wales Japan semi, obviously with Wales progressing.

Re: Rapha Brevet Insulated jacket large

It's very slightly bigger than a PT. So good for layering.

Re: Assos Habu or Castelli Alpha ROS jersey

The alpha is definitely more comfortable and has a better range of temperatures.

Re: Assos Habu or Castelli Alpha ROS jersey

Slightly different things, but also quite similar. I've owned both, and am a huge fan of the Alpha. On the face of it the Habu should be warmer. But, in practice, the Alpha often is. It's also a very very good rain jacket, gives in in the end of course. But, the Habu is a very good price at Merlin. ...

So, I see you like the RIbble, for example, but this is a better year round bike in my view.

Re: UK all-weather commuter

When you say, over budget, what is your actual budget? Because, good as the Contend is, fitting guards once you've bought it is important. But, if you haven't, I wonder if you're better with something else and wider tyres?

Re: UK all-weather commuter

No, I found something like this in my tool box.

https://www.strongtie.co.uk/products/de ... bracket/96

The shorter end went behind the forks.

But, seriously, don't. No need, just swap to 25's and get SKS 35mm.

Re: UK all-weather commuter

I think I'm leaning towards disc brakes and, more specifically, Giant Contend sl1 which has the semi hydraulic setup - anyone have any experience? Shimano 105, 9.2kg, mudguard mounts. The savings through my ctw are massive (circa £600 for a £1000 bike with no final payment or deposit - option to le...

Re: BREXIT - Boris' Last Roll of the Dice? - Corbyn Waiting in the Wings?

In reality our leaders should just man up and admit that Brexit will create losers and argue that it is a price worth paying. True. All this arguing over how to have a border but at the same time not have a border is truly a waste of everyone's effort. Likewise the pretence around not requesting an...

Re: Mudguard front extension

Happy Monday. The front fits! I guess it's curved just right so that it does clear. The only caveat is that really neat little black plastic bit at the front of the front guard needs to be popped off. The great thing about the SKS guards, of course, is just how low they go at the front. So, need to ...

Rear is on and fits. Much better rear than the giant one. Touches front mech cable but does not interfere

Re: Mudguard front extension

So, this is working out fine. But, more coverage would be better. So, have ordered some SKS Chromoplastics. Rear will definitely fit (need to make sure it doesn't contact front mech cable). Front, gonna cut it at the fork connector. And retain the other one I've made. BUT, thought arises, wonder if ...
