Re: New AM Wheelset

I have the Tricon XM1550 wheels on my Bike and cant praise them enough, yes they are expensive but they are super light, tough and tubeless, no need for rim strips or anything. Never keen on white spokes but they have grown on me.

Re: Which shoes for downhill?

[quote="The Northern Monkey"]5:10'S are too expensive... made of cardboard too from what I've heard. And they soak up tonnes of water and weigh a tonne. Plus, they look like 'special' shoes. quote] Had mine for a full year now, they have been through hell and back and still perfect. Cant s...

Re: Knee Pads

SPD's are a nightamre when you have done your ACL in and after surgery, did mine in 2009. This is my view and it worked for me but after surgery dont wear a knee brace and most physios and surgeons recomend you not to wear one, build up the strength back up and the knee will be fine but it takes tim...

Re: Clipless or not

Clips for XC.

Clips and Flats for DH depending on how much pedalling is involved and what type of track it is.

Re: Canyon Nerve AM 8.0x

The Tyres are Tubeless Ready but the rims are not tubeless unless you buy the conversion kit.

And yes X means its running some XO kit.

Most people seem to like the Mamba colour and will probably last longer and look cleaner.

Re: Knee Pads

Iv got the 2011 POC pads and mine have so far never fallen down, i did take the advice and went 1 size lower and once they warm up i dont even notice i have them on. The good thing about the 2012 pads is another strap but its located at the back and not at the bottom where most people think it is an...

Re: What is the best full suspension bike to buy under £1500

Pedal bob on the Canyon does not exist well not that i can feel anyway, the rear is controlled by Anti Squat kinematics which prevents pedal bob i keep on having to looking down to see if the shock is working and funnily enough it is  . It climbs as good as my old Scott Spark with the locko...

Re: Canyon Nerve AM 8.0x

Second that, for value for money and it rides as good as any other bike out there its tough to beat, you can pay £1000 more for another bike and worse spec kit.

Re: Canyon Nerve AM 9.0 SL

Have not changed anything, all that is standard for that model minus pedals but ordered them with the bike as its cheaper than buying from the UK. Only change that Canyon did was put Black TALAS forks on rather than White which is what i was after anyway.

190mm is the length of the shock not the travel which should be about 150mm to match the front.

The worst iv thrown at them was the Dyfi Enduro ok thats not much but i only use them for xc enduro's etc, i do feel confident pushing them hard and feel they can withstand a fair old battering and keeping very much true they take a bit to knock themselves out of line.
