Ive just come up with a diy option. basically I got some cheap insoles and cut a hoe in the fore foot area I then padded the sides and back so that the ball of my foot isn't pressing on anything. I only had time to do 15 miles and it was pretty warm today - but the initial results were pretty favora...

in a serious sense - a lot of it is about weight. when I am on a club run - you see the field sort - the little skinny guys go to the front, while the big guys slip to the back. I ve been commutting since about april - only 12 mile round trip - its quite a busy route traffic wise, so I ain't pushing...

economies of scale. Most parents will buy there kids a full sus steel mtb for under £100 - high quality kids bikes don't sell in as great a numbers as machines for adults. - My kids want road bikes - nothing under £300 - which is a lot for bike they will grow out of . Good thing about BMX - is that ...

custom insole options

I wear orthotics in my day shoes - and have been using these in my cycling shoes. But I am now starting to suffer from cold toes in my right foot . I have moved the cleats back and forth and angled them but without much success. I have been wondering whether I need different orthotics for cycling - ...

cheap option

try doing some pilates - or core strength excercises - there was a cracking selection in c+ a few issues back - or do a web search - this really helps my back issues - (symptoms similar to yours)

Foot Troubles - Where to start ?

Many years ago I had knee and back problems - this got sorted by some custom made orthotics - I still get the odd flare up - but overall the back problem is manageable. A couple of winters back - I noticed I was getting numb feet - I put this down to the cold - and didn't really worry to much - but ...

Le Wedge - hot numb Fumb

I have recently had a problem with my toes going numb hot & tingly - obviously the longer the ride the worse it is. Its always bad of a night in bed. I have tried metasarial gel pads - and these help a little - but give me a pain in my calf & the pains moves to my outer foot. I wear othotics...

Is the 2008 tour the most Boring ?

Been watching the tour since the mid 80's - have to say this year race - is the most sterile for years - even the mountain stages have been mostly dull - and Evans looks set to sit in the pack - and plod to paris - come on Menchov - give him a race Do you agree - is this the most boring tour since t...

Re: Time to say good bye to the pie

I cant believe how unfit a person can become in 18 days. In this time my dog got run over and I have been caring for the dog not going out on my bike and eating lots of pie and chips, kebabs and KFC, takeaway curry and chinese. Put on half a stone in 18 days, not bad huh? not bad is an understateme...

I have been using them on my road bike for years. I would start off just using them on road - stay on flat roads - and unclick well in advance of any junction - you can coast along with one pedal unclipped. For on road - Clipless pedals are pretty much essential - for off road its more a matter of p...
