I'm Simon, originally from Burnley but now living in Manchester. I'm not new to the forum but I've been inactive for some time now. I had lost the bug after moving to Blackburn for a few years due to the lack of trails, but, after having my bike stolen shortly after moving to Manchester and getting ...

Cable tension problem. I had it the other day. Try increasing the tension using the barrel adjuster.

What? Sympathy?? Pah!! You're a mountain bike rider! Get out, get wet, get muddy and have fun! Every ride I have been on for the last month has involved me getting rained on. It's what happens "outdoors"..... You can't change the weather but you can make the most of a bad situation :!: :D

The guys who I ride with use a pickup truck. See photo: Clicky We just take the front wheels out of the bikes and stick the forks over the tailgate (Have some mats laid over too so it does not scratch the bikes or the truck) and then it is further secured using a rope and ratchet system. Easy and se...

Oooh, not as long as I thought then! I am new to this mtb lark (5 months service so far) so I have not seen a whole product line released like this before. Does anyone know if the new kit will be sold everywhere at rrp to start with or can we see the good discounts we have come to expect from the li...

XT and XTR compatability

I have come to the point where I am going to finish off the drivetrain on my build but I just need some help spec'ing it. If I were to get XTR shifters (looking at dual control) would I have to use them with XTR mechs and cables?? I already have some XT cables and I only wanted to get XT mechs, it's...

Yeah, your method of setting seat height is what I do at the minute, I like my leg to be almost fully stretched out when pedalling. I have come a cropper a few times in the last couple of months where I have got my weight back and got stuck behind the saddle, arms fully stretched hurtling down some ...

Congrats on your baby :D Not too long now..... are you ready??

Seems like you still have a fair bit on. Just out of interest, how high do you have your seat during a race?? I take it you don't get off and lower for the trickier bits where you need to get your weight back.
