Could you not pass the cable lock through the towing hoop rather than an alloy? That would mean that you wouldnt need to disconnect it every time you need to drive? Not sure how secure that would be? This is something I've been thinking long and hard about also, but havent got any ideas yet! I also ...

Securing bike to car / rack

Evening, I recently bought a rear mounted car rack for when I have both mine and my girlfriends bikes to transport. The rack has 6 straps holding it to the car, and then the plastic cup type things to hold the bikes in place. But what other methods / precautions do you lot take? Do you have any othe...

I've just bought my girlfriend a bike, and the general consensus among people in the bike shop was that women specific bikes are crap, and we were mainly advised to buy a mens bike for her (which I have done so). I also thought this myself. When looking at all the different options on the net, I fou...

dunker yes they're the ones! and usually carrying a can of fosters / cheap cider. they're also the teenage girls dressed in illuminous pink tops squating by a main bridleway having a p155, telling you to look the other way (i was already looking at the ground so apparantly had to stare at the sky). ...

South Durham mate. Yeah £90 for 3 bike one. £80 for the 2 bike rack. I've also seen others that are cheaper, not sure how much difference there'll be between say a £45 one and the Sones?? Where's good to ride round North Yorks then? I'm bored of Hamsterley and getting abused by Chavs round here!!

Just looked at the one you mention. What an odd design! But available in various colours! :D

In the picture on Wiggle there arent any straps, I'm assuming that on the real thing there are some?

And what type of car are you using it with?

Car Racks

Hi guys, I'm after a bike rack for the car and I'm struggling to find one, mainly due to the fact that on the internet they dont say which cars are compatible etc, and i'm finding it hard to visualise the way it'll sit on my car (i'm a kinaesthetic learner!) I want a rear mounted one so please dont ...

What Car? Bike Rack

Does anyone own this bike rack or similar? http://www.chainreactioncycles.com/Models.aspx?ModelID=28383 At the moment I have a MkIV Golf, but will most probably be changing it in the not too distant future for a more suitable family car ( ). Will this fit the Vectra / Mondeo type boot as wel...

What do you lot think of this bike? I can get it for £380 elsewhere. It seems decent spec to me if I only pay that for it?

Yeah I seem to remember reading it once.

So are there any other shops to use that might stock 2007 (or older) bikes?

Well we went and looked at a few bikes today at Evans Cycles. The bloke initially said he would only recommend a ladies bike for a lady, then when I asked if she could sit on a mens bike anyway he said "oh that might be ok actually". Going to look in a few other shops to see what they say....

pocketsprocket: I'd seen that bike and liked the look of it too. Cheers. Is it a decent frame? Because as mentioned, as long as the frame is good the other buts can be upgraded at a later date. So its now more or less a choice between the Scott, Spesh and Giant. She'll obviously try them all, but an...
