Narvaez still there too, so nearly picked him for PTP but thought Vendrame was a better bet over the hills.

UAE lost control of this group

Calmejane doing well considering he nearly didn’t hold on for the KOM. Feels like UAE overdid things a bit on that climb, can’t see anyone else helping.

G trying to go with a move now, he looked better than I expected up the climb.

All the little attacks behind seem to have killed the chances of the new break though.

As soon as they hit the climb UAE start driving it. The graphics are miles out but Conci has a decent lead. Pog going now and very few left.

I cursed G talking about his climbing.

Narvaez the only person able to hold Pog!

Narvaez can just sit in, perfect for G if Pog eases and he has a good sprint.

Schachman manages to close to the front two.

Narvaez takes it. Think Schachman got second. Pog third and everyone else loses a few seconds at least. Ganna managed to stay with the Thomas group. Really interesting stage that.

It's clear that pog isn't worried about anyone on gc. Could have kept riding but wanted the stage and ended up with only 14 seconds on his "rivals".

For all the sprinter talk, the best placed was Biniam Grimay, over 8 minutes down.

I wondered this. The rest of the teams are in alphabetical order, so my hunch is that the organisers have given no 1 to the highest ranked from last year who could be bothered to show up this year

Who would be the winner's team? Bora or Visma?

There's that too. Do you really want Florian Lipowitz wearing the number 1?

At least G has some pedigree about him

    Yup.

It's because last year's winner, Roglic isn't here and Geraint was 2nd.
